Claudia started her career as an Associate Microfinance Analyst with CGAP, a research center housed at the World Bank. She was a core member of the project team for the initial development and roll-out of the SmartAid for Microfinance Index on the effectiveness of donors’ internal systems to support microfinance and conducted research on smart subsidies for access to finance and on various microfinance and aid effectiveness-related topics.
Claudia worked with ProCredit in various subsidiaries in Africa and Latin America managing the retail and deposit side of the institution as well as the SME business for un- and underserved clients. She was responsible for client segmentation and the design and implementation of new products, managing and overseeing processes from product design and drafting of procedures, to IT and accounting implementation, marketing and developing and executing of staff trainings. She co-taught a one-week course “Strategic Planning” for middle management of ProCredit Banks at the Regional Academy for Latin America (in Spanish).
As an advisor in Financial Systems Development at GIZ, Claudia designed and managed microinsurance diagnostic projects in selected African countries (Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda) with a focus on the development of conducive regulatory frameworks.
Responsible for the Jacobs Foundation’s international portfolio in Latin America and Africa, Claudia focused on rural livelihoods projects within smallholder farming communities (food and cash crops, especially cocoa), vocational training and youth integration into the labor market, as well as basic education programs. She was responsible for program design including impact models and M&E systems, selection of implementing partners, technical backstopping and project follow-up and monitoring, liaising and coordination with stakeholders in-country and developing partnerships, especially with the private sector.
In November 2014, Claudia founded devImpact.
