Claudia Huber, Founder and Senior Consultant
Claudia is a motivated and enthusiastic senior professional with more than ten years of experience in financial inclusion and (rural) economic development from public and private sector perspectives. She has hands-on experience in managing the deposit/savings and credit sides of a microfinance institution, as well as in developing and implementing new financial products. Her focus areas are microfinance, SME and agricultural finance. She has a proven track record in managing projects, including identifying and building up partnerships, designing processes and monitoring and evaluation systems, and implementing and managing complex projects with multi-stakeholder approaches. Claudia has carried out a number of project and programme evaluations based on OECD/DAC criteria. Claudia is fluent orally and in writing in English, French, Spanish and German and has notions in Portuguese. She has long and short term working experience in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.
Since 2006, Claudia is a certified election observer for the German Government, a quite unique way of getting to know a country. Claudia likes traveling with a preference to remote rural areas. One of her best trips ever was a 15-hour train ride crossing Northern Mozambique from Cuamba to Nampula. Claudia likes mountains and long hikes around Swiss, Ethiopian, Argentinian or Tanzanian mountains--literally any mountains. She has become a fanatic about yoga and is convinced she will be able to look at the world up-side down soon! Since starting as an entrepreneur herself, she has (been forced to) become a passionate web designer!
